Shop Assembly Worker

We’re seeking a full-time shop technician to assist with the assembly of our precision machines. Job Summary

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials
  • Assemble manure spreaders and row mulchers
  • Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics, etc. and follow them with precision
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs 
  • Operate nail gun to help build crating for shipments
  • Drive flatbed pickup truck to take loads to and from outside service vendors as needed
  • Operate forklift to move finished product and load trucks
  • Work safely while achieving production goals and maintaining high-quality standards

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Have a safe work environment attitude for yourself and all others you work around.
  • Comfortable working with teammates on large projects
  • Understanding of 6S principles and lean manufacturing practices to reduce and eliminate waste in the process
  • Willingness to cross train and learn all equipment in the shop
  • Capable to operate forklift and other material handling equipment in a safe manner

Qualifications and Skills

  • 18 years or older
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must have good technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity
  • Proven experience as an assembler
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Be able to bend, twist, and lift at least 75 lbs
  • Capable of working 5 days a week, from 6:00 am to 4:45 pm, and having dependable transportation to and from work
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Working in a team atmosphere
